Beloit and Norton are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Bluejays on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Beloit and five for Norton dating back to last season.
On Friday, Beloit came up short against Phillipsburg and fell 40-28.
Despite the defeat, Beloit had strong showings from Truitt King, who threw for 330 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and Joel Rexroat, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores. A healthy portion of King's aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Paxton Fouts.
Meanwhile, Norton lost 28-7 to Minneapolis on Friday.
Beloit will have to contain Tyler Backman as he made an impact in Norton's last game. He rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards.
Norton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ashton Kats and Jatin Weigel.
Norton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Beloit, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Beloit couldn't quite get it done against Norton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 14-7. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
