Basketball Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

Live Oak lost against Rio Vista back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Live Oak Lions fell 44-32 to the Rio Vista Rams.

Rio Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samiah Holley led the charge by dropping a triple-double on ten points, ten boards, and 12 steals. Holley is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caleigh Bloesch, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Live Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Rio Vista, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Live Oak and Quincy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Vista will take on Edison in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
