Football Game Preview: Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees vs. Valley View Tigers

The Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees will challenge the Valley View Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tuloso-Midway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 36.8 points per game this season.

Tuloso-Midway made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Calallen, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors & Cherokees fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 30-27 on Friday. While the Warriors & Cherokees had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Wildcats 14-10.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Damian Figueroa, who rushed for 200 yards and one score while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 86-yard run. Joaquin Trevino was another key passer, throwing for 121 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Valley View's offense. They were beaten by Calallen 77-0 last Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1173rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 437th).

This is the second loss in a row for Valley View and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Tuloso-Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Tuloso-Midway against Valley View in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-14 win. In that matchup, the Warriors & Cherokees amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
