Pinecrest Academy entered their tilt with Cornerstone Prep Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Cornerstone Prep Academy a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pinecrest Academy also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
Ben Nadler was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Nadler has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Nadler was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two triples, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Chris Calupca was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Will Sauter was another key contributor, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Pinecrest Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
