Football Game Preview: Baxter Springs Lions vs. Columbus Titans

Baxter Springs hasn't had much luck against Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Titans. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Baxter Springs is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Parsons on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions came up short against the Vikings, falling 34-14.

Meanwhile, Columbus came up short against Neodesha on Friday and fell 20-7.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Baxter Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Baxter Springs was taken down by Columbus 62-30 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Titans' Braun Stone, who rushed for 186 yards and three scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.
