Football Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Hodgeman County Longhorns

The Fairfield Falcons will take on the Hodgeman County Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Fairfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Stafford 64-14. Considering the Falcons have won four games by more than 25 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Gage Brown went supernova, rushing for 110 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, while also catching one score. Those 110 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fairfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 317 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Hodgeman County faced Victoria in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The contest between the Longhorns and the Knights didn't end well, with the Longhorns falling 28-14. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Fairfield will have to contain Tyson Younger as he made an impact in Hodgeman County's last game. He picked up 90 receiving yards and one TD. Younger was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.

The win got Fairfield back to even at 4-4. As for Hodgeman County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
