Baseball Recap: South Bend Riley Wildcats vs. Mishawaka Marian Knights
South Bend Riley extended their losing streak to 14 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-19. They lost 14-1 to the Mishawaka Marian Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-4 on Tuesday.
South Bend Riley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Gundrum, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Mishawaka Marian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games.
On Mishawaka Marian's side, Cade Briones looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Briones also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Knights are 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 8-9 otherwise.

Looking ahead, South Bend Riley is taking a road trip to take on Westville at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mishawaka Marian, they will host Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
