Soccer Recap: Granite Hills Comes Up Short

Granite Hills saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell just short of the Claremont Wolfpack by a score of 4-3. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 83rd).

Lianna Tsabur and Isabella Cerda scored all three of Granite Hills' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Granite Hills and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Claremont, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granite Hills will face off against Silverado at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Granite Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season. As for Claremont, they will square off against Bonita at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
