Softball Game Preview: Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans vs. Superior Panthers

The Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Superior Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Gilbert Classical Academy will be strutting in after a win while Superior will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Gilbert Classical Academy turned things around against Tempe Prep on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 18-4 victory.

Meanwhile, Superior fell victim to Joseph City and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-0. It was the first time this season that the Panthers let down their fans at home.

Superior saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lessenia Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Superior's defeat dropped their record down to 16-2-1. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.

Gilbert Classical Academy suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Superior when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
