Soccer Recap: Mendocino Starts Season with Loss at Home

Mendocino unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Point Arena Pirates on Wednesday, falling 6-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mendocino of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Gavin Evans.

Coincidentally, Mendocino and Point Arena will both be playing Fort Bragg the next time they take the pitch. The Cardinals will host the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Pirates will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
