Football Recap: Floyd Takes a Loss

If Floyd was riding high fresh off their 59-6 takedown of Carrizozo last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos lost 80-56 to the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue on Friday. The Broncos lost against the Blue/Lady Blue in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 59-6 score last time.

Floyd has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.8 points over those games. As for Roy/Mosquero, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Floyd will venture away from home to face off against Grady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roy/Mosquero, they will face off against Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue/Lady Blue will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
