Football Recap: St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Francis last Friday, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy came back down to earth. The Warriors fell 38-29 to the Paraclete Spirits on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 30-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Paraclete was led to victory by Kyle Fulton Jr and Joseph Mesa. Fulton Jr gained 138 total yards and a touchdown, while Mesa threw for 268 yards on 21 of 33 attempts.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Paraclete, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Paraclete will square off against rival Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Mesa and Jaden Jefferson.
