Softball Recap: Duchesne/Roncalli Has No Trouble Against South Sioux City

Duchesne/Roncalli's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the South Sioux City Cardinals with a sharp 21-7 win. That's more bragging rights for Duchesne/Roncalli, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaiden Wageman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Londyn Scebold was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Aleah Rivera also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Duchesne/Roncalli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Duchesne/Roncalli's record now sits at 6-4. As for South Sioux City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Duchesne/Roncalli will face off against Benson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bunnies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.67 runs per game on average), something Duchesne/Roncalli will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Sioux City, they will challenge Wayne on Thursday.
