Softball Game Preview: Sikeston Bulldogs vs. North County Raiders

Sikeston hasn't had much luck against North County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Sikeston has given up an average of 16.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sikeston fell victim to Doniphan and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Dons, falling 19-0.

Meanwhile, North County got themselves on the board against Saxony Lutheran on Friday, but Saxony Lutheran never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since September 3rd.

The result came thanks to Emma Roper (Sr)'s shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, North County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Jaco (So), who went 2-for-3 with one double.

North County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Sikeston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
