Soccer Recap: Iowa City's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

While Iowa City's win against Calamus-Wheatland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Little Hawks never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. Given Iowa City's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Calamus-Wheatland are ranked 82nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Iowa City's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three matchups. As for Calamus-Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-2.
