Softball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

Cooper lost to Abilene back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Eagles, falling 7-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payton Ellis made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Abilene, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cooper is set to take on their familiar foe Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Abilene will face off against rival Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
