Baseball Recap: Rigby Victorious

Rigby hadn't done well against Highland recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans came out on top against the Rams by a score of 6-3. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 13-1 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Gunnar Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Rigby is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Bentley Brower was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Rigby's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jayden Belnap, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rigby's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rams beat Rigby by a score of 15-1 later that day.
