Basketball Recap: El Rancho Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

El Rancho hadn't done well against Whittier recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The El Rancho Dons came out on top against the Whittier Cardinals by a score of 48-36. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 37-25 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Whittier still got an impressive performance from Andrea Castillo, who went 9 of 18 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Castillo has posted since back in December of 2024.

El Rancho pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Whittier, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.
