Basketball Recap: Orosi Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Orosi was riding high fresh off their 51-22 takedown of Orange Cove last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orosi Cardinals fell 41-28 to the Farmersville Aztecs on Wednesday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aztecs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Janessa Garza continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Farmersville, putting up 16 points along with eight steals and five assists. Garza is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. Haylie Tassey was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Orosi's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11. As for Farmersville, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Orosi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-0 win against Wonderful College Prep Academy on the 17th. Farmersville has also already played their next contest, a 49-20 victory against Orange Cove on the 17th.
