Football Recap: Kaden Mullis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mitchell over Crawford County

Mitchell is still winless after their contest against Crawford County on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wolfpack. On the bright side, the 22- point performance marked the Bluejackets' highest-scoring game to date.

Several Bluejackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Mullis, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown. Blake King was in the mix as well, providing Mitchell with one TD.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crawford County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaidyn Messer, who rushed for 195 yards and one score. Messer's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Luke Copelin, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Crawford County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Mitchell has already played their next matchup, a 41-6 defeat against North Central on the 26th. As for Crawford County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-6 loss against Springs Valley on the 26th.
