Basketball Recap: Sonoma Valley's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Sonoma Valley was riding high fresh off their 53-21 takedown of Vintage last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sonoma Valley Dragons took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the American Canyon Wolves on Wednesday. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Jordan Woodson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards for American Canyon. Woodson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ysabelle Locquiao, who posted 12 points.

Sonoma Valley's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. As for American Canyon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Petaluma the next time they take the court. Sonoma Valley will host Petaluma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while American Canyon will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
