Basketball Recap: Mackenzie Diven Key Part of a Team Effort in Braves Win

Modoc's and Lakeview's matchup on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Modoc turned on the heat in the second half with 35 points. The Modoc Braves were the clear victor by a 52-26 margin over the Lakeview Honkers. For the Braves, this counts as revenge for the 41-35 win the Honkers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Modoc got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mackenzie Diven out in front who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and four steals. Those 13 points gave Diven a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Sandage, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

The win made it two in a row for Modoc and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Lakeview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Modoc will square off against Hoopa Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Lake will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lakeview surely won't give up without a fight.
