Shade extends home losing streak to five

Recap: Shade Panthers vs. Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays

This season hasn't been kind to the Shade Panthers, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They took a hard 49-32 fall against Conemaugh Valley on Thursday. Shade was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Conemaugh Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Leading Conemaugh Valley to victory were Sarah Miller and Madison McCleester. Miller scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while McCleester scored 18 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that McCleester scored 15 or more points. Penelope Reininger was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Shade's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Conemaugh Valley, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shade will square off against Cambria Heights at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Conemaugh Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Ferndale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Ferndale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Wednesday.
