A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lovejoy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Lovejoy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Stephenson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Lovejoy blew past Stephenson 22-2 on Friday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Anthony Finkley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Evan Shaw was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Lovejoy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Jackson didn't have quite enough to beat Northgate on Friday and fell 6-5. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Maceo White and Tyler Dunn stepped up to the plate in a big way. White scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Dunn went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. White has become a key player for Jackson: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-5 otherwise. Charlie Schrope also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lovejoy, their record now sits at 2-3-1.
Jackson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lovejoy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Jackson, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Lovejoy's hitters?
Lovejoy came up short against Jackson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 4-1. Can Lovejoy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
