Soccer Game Preview: Murrieta Valley vs. Chaparral

The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks will head out to challenge the Chaparral Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Wednesday, Murrieta Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Vista Murrieta and fell 2-1.

Despite a strong season so far, Chaparral has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Great Oak. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Pumas couldn't quite close it out.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Murrieta Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Murrieta Valley took their victory against Chaparral in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. Does Murrieta Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chaparral turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
