Basketball Recap: San Juan Takes a Loss

San Juan lost against Mesa Verde on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The San Juan Spartans were beaten by the Mesa Verde Mavericks 72-7.

Mesa Verde got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaiden Alexander out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Alexander a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Grace Johnson, who posted 16 points.

San Juan's loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mesa Verde, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9.

San Juan has already played their next matchup (against Rio Vista), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mesa Verde has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Highlands.
