Recap: Central Valley Christian Cavaliers vs. Mt. Whitney Pioneers

After flying high against the Riverdale Cowboys on Thursday, the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers came back down to earth. Central Valley Christian took a 33-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Whitney on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central Valley Christian has scored all season.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Hiemstra, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Joey Bakker, who scored six points.

Central Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mt. Whitney, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

The two teams will face off at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mt. Whitney is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. They won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Central Valley Christian at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Central Valley Christian and Mt. Whitney are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
