Basketball Recap: Dos Palos Comes Up Short

Dos Palos played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Mendota Aztecs and fell 45-12. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-1.

Despite the defeat, Dos Palos saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brionte Neal posted seven points. That was a full 58.3% of Dos Palos' points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Dos Palos has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Mendota, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Dos Palos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-24 victory against Tranquillity on the 4th. As for Mendota, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-35 win against Coalinga on the 4th.
