Football Recap: Whitman Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Whitman's offense. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of the Churchill Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 37th).

Churchill was led to victory by Noah Zhang and Hunter Humphries. Zhang rushed for 138 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, while Humphries rushed for 73 yards and three scores.

Whitman's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Churchill, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitman will face off against Springbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Churchill, they will square off against Quince Orchard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 1.5 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
