Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elk County Catholic). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 47-20 victory over the St. Marys Flying Dutch. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Flying Dutch are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elk County Catholic pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for St. Marys, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
