Baseball Recap: Stephenson Takes a Loss

Stephenson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Norway Knights, falling 13-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

Lucas Havelka stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. Stephenson is 3-1 when Havelka posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nate Klein, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Stephenson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Norway, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Coincidentally, Stephenson and Norway will both be playing Bark River-Harris the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
