Baseball Recap: Pike County Takes a Loss

Pike County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morgan County Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-2 loss on Friday.

Pike County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Morgan County, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike County will take on Rutland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Morgan County, they will square off against Ola at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
