Softball Recap: Rocky Mountain Comes Up Short

Rocky Mountain made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ralston Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lobos fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Lobos have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Grace Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rocky Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiana Villa, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Rocky Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Ralston Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.

Rocky Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ralston Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaparral at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
