Softball Recap: Greenbrier Wins Going Away Against Lakeside

Greenbrier's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Lakeside Panthers with a sharp 13-1 victory. Considering the Wolfpack have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Avery Bankston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Bankston was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eva Martin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harlem Waul, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Greenbrier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeside only posted a batting average of .214.

Greenbrier's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Lakeside, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.

Greenbrier will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
