Basketball Game Preview: South Spartans vs. Canyon Comanches

Having just played yesterday, the South Spartans will jump right back in to play the Canyon Comanches at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

South took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 55-45 victory over Heritage.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canyon). They claimed a resounding 59-16 win over El Camino. Given the Comanches' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Wildcats are ranked 490th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

South's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Canyon, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.
