Softball Recap: Calvary Day Takes a Loss

Calvary Day extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Liberty County Panthers, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cavaliers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Liberty County, they now have a winning record of 8-7. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Liberty County's part, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Barnard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave Barnard a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Aeriela Jemison, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Calvary Day is set to face off against their familiar foe Southeast Bulloch at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Liberty County will challenge rival Long County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
