Baseball Recap: Georgia Christian Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Georgia Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sherwood Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Georgia Christian blew past Sherwood Christian Academy 8-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mac Bowling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Bo Miller was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Carson Hanks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Georgia Christian pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgia Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brooks County at 4:30 p.m. on April 10. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they will challenge Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sherwood Christian Academy is facing Monroe at the right time seeing as Monroe is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
