Permian can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Kermit Yellow Jackets by a score of 62-50. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellow Jackets, too.

Kermit's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keaton Thomas, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ethan Quiroz, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Permian's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Kermit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Permian will venture away from home to take on Estacado at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Matadors have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Kermit, they will head out on the road to challenge Greenwood at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
