Soccer Recap: Westminster Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Westminster has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kell Longhorns. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Westminster came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Kell are ranked 146th).

Westminster's goal came courtesy of Hayden Wyler, who's now up to three this season.

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Kell, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9.

Westminster didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Southeast Whitfield County on the 23rd. As for Kell, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Etowah on the 18th.
