Recap: Pitman Pride vs. Downey Knights
The Pitman Pride posted their biggest victory since December 9, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Downey 51-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Pitman has posted against Downey since February 10, 2020.
Pitman found their leader in underclassman Dailynn Greener, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. Greener has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Wu, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Pitman's third in a row) raised their record to 9-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Downey, they bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pitman will take on Turlock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Downey, they will head out on the road to challenge Modesto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Modesto comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
