Recap: Gardena Panthers vs. Banning Pilots
The Gardena Panthers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They took down Banning 36-22. For Gardena, this counts as revenge for the 31-27 defeat Banning walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Leading Gardena to victory were Lauren Tobin-Williams and India Cage. Tobin-Williams scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Cage scored six points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Cage grabbed two or more steals. De'Ajanae Reed was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Gardena's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Banning, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gardena will take on Rancho Dominguez at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Dominguez is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Banning, they will be playing at home against San Pedro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
