Recap: Alhambra Moors vs. Mark Keppel Aztecs
The Alhambra Moors lost against the Mark Keppel Aztecs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Alhambra was beaten by Mark Keppel 81-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alhambra has scored all season.
Alhambra's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Megan Lai, who scored ten points. Hailey Contreras was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Alhambra struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Alhambra and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Mark Keppel, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alhambra will challenge Montebello at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montebello will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Mark Keppel won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rialto at 4:30 p.m. on January 6th. Rialto is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
