Football Recap: The First Academy Continues Road Dominance on Friday

The First Academy had won two straight road games and Demetrice McCray did his part to make it three on Friday. The Royals came out on top against the Venice Indians by a score of 21-14 for which the team can thank McCray, who picked up 140 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 87 yards on only nine carries. His longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards.

Tyree Mannings and Darryon Jones certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Mannings picked up 93 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Jones rushed for 42 yards and one TD.

The First Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Venice, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

The First Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 45-14 victory against Gadsden County on the 26th. As for Venice, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 51-0 win against Lehigh on the 26th.
