Recap: Shasta Wolves vs. Foothill Cougars
After a string of five wins, the Shasta Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their rough 69-43 loss to Foothill might stick with them for a while. Shasta has not had much luck with Foothill recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Shasta's loss came despite strong showings from Joriana Gibbens-egolf and Bria Tate. Gibbens-egolf scored 17 points, while Tate scored ten points along with five steals. Tate hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Foothill was led to victory by Riley Sedlak and Lexi Peters. Sedlak scored 15 points along with two steals, while Peters scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sedlak has scored all season. Kalea Thomas was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Shasta's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Foothill, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Shasta on the road again on Tuesday and play against Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Pleasant Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.4 points per game. Foothill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Valley at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. West Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
