Recap: Wood Wildcats vs. Rodriguez Mustangs
The Wood Wildcats's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-45 win over Rodriguez. That's another feather in the cap for Wood, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Wood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalia Sanchez, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Sanchez hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Tianna Palmer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Rodriguez's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mia Marquez, who scored 21 points, and Gabriella Williams who scored 15 points. That was a full 46.7% of Rodriguez's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Rodriguez, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

As for Rodriguez, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rodriguez is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, meaning Fairfield will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
