Tri-Metro - West recap October 1, 2013
DeLaSalle added to the longest winning streak in Tri-Metro - West this week by beating Benilde-St. Margaret's, 35-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Islanders.
DeLaSalle led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on the Red Knights.
St. Paul Academy-Summit/Mounds Park Academy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael O'Shea threw for 92 yards and Dalante Peyton had 54 yards receiving. On the ground Louie Bogolub chipped in 107 yards. Nick Hoffmann helped St. Paul Academy-Summit/Mounds Park Academy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
Bogolub was a passing and rushing force as the Spartans beat West Lutheran/Southwest Christian. Bogolub's key target this week was Peyton, who caught 4 passes for 54 yards.
Bogolub was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 107 yards as St. Paul Academy-Summit/Mounds Park Academy bested the Warriors. Andrew Thao also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
St. Paul Academy-Summit/Mounds Park Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. O'Shea has thrown for 598 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Peyton has 32 catches for 325 yards.
An important game coming up in Tri-Metro - West this week will be when Ed Perrault's team takes on Minnehaha Academy. The Spartans are currently in fifth, while the Red Hawks are in second.
Minnehaha Academy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,207 from 9,034. The improvement was largely due to a 29-14 victory over Providence Academy last week.
