Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Ceres Bulldogs

Mountain House is 9-0 against Ceres since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mountain House Mustangs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ceres Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Mountain House has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Mountain House scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 70-49 margin over Lathrop. Mountain House has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Ceres entered their tilt with Los Banos with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Ceres snuck past Los Banos with a 38-32 victory on Thursday. That's two games straight that Ceres has won by exactly six points.

Ceres' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marissa Renteria, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Renteria pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Arrayah Stallworth, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.

Mountain House is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Ceres, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Everything came up roses for Mountain House against Ceres in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 58-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain House since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
