Basketball Recap: Southern Fulton Takes a Loss

Southern Fulton lost against Tussey Mountain back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Southern Fulton Indians were dealt a 68-37 loss at the hands of the Tussey Mountain Titans. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Despite the defeat, Southern Fulton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Claire Harvey dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 54.1% of Southern Fulton's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kristen Gregory, who put up three points and seven boards.

Tussey Mountain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubree Weaver out in front who had 11 points in addition to six assists and four steals. That's the most steals Weaver has posted since back in December of 2024. Brianna Gabrielson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Southern Fulton and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Tussey Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Southern Fulton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-26 victory against Rockwood on the 14th. As for Tussey Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-31 loss against Everett on the 13th.
