Baseball Game Preview: Tomahawk Hatchets vs. Northland Pines Eagles

Tomahawk is 1-9 against Northland Pines since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hatchets will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Tomahawk's offense. They fell just short of Stratford by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Northland Pines hadn't done well against Mosinee recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 27, 2025.

Northland Pines saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Hoeft, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northland Pines' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7. As for Tomahawk, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
