Recap: Mountain View Spartans vs. Milpitas Trojans
After a string of three wins, the Mountain View Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milpitas. Mountain View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Milpitas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Mountain View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikayla Kim, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kambria Conover-Emmert, who scored five points.
It was another big night for Nohe'alani Stores, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds for Milpitas. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stores has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jasleen Dhaliwal, who scored 13 points.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Milpitas, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Mountain View will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Gunn at 7:00 p.m. Gunn is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Milpitas, they will head out on the road to square off against Saratoga at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
